Waterford Student Enterprise Expo

The Local Enterprise Office wish to invite you to this year’s student expo which takes place in W.I.T. Arena, Carriganore on Thursday 13th December from 10am to 1pm.  The event is part of the Local Enterprise Office’s Student Enterprise Programme and showcases the many mini companies that have been set up by secondary schools in the City and County.

The Student Enterprise Programme, which runs from September to May each year, is Ireland’s biggest student enterprise competition.  Each year over 23,000 secondary students from 480 schools take part in the programme by setting up and running their own student business.  This year Waterford LEO is working with nearly 1,000 students in 13 secondary schools across the county with an anticipated 100 exhibiting at this event.  Students get to find out what it’s really like to be an entrepreneur and get a practical, hands-on taste of real life business.  Students get to do everything a real life entrepreneur does when setting up as business – from coming up with the idea and business name to making and supplying a product/service and dealing with customers.  Students will then take part in the County Final on March 5th with the winners representing Waterford at the National Final in Croke Park in May, 2019.

WLR will be broadcasting live from the event and we would love if you could pop in, at any time throughout the morning, to support the hard work completed by the students.
