Ireland's Best Young Entrepreneur 2019

Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur is a competition for entrepreneurs under 35 years of age hosted by the Local Enterprise Office and Enterprise Ireland.

Each county runs their own competition and each selects a winner in three categories: Best Business Idea, Best Start-Up and Best Established Business. From there, county winners progress to the regional finals and on to the national finals.

IBYE is so much more than a competition it is a journey.  It’s not just about the one person who wins at the County or National Final, it’s about the journey of learning and growth for all of the young entrepreneurs along the way. Our young entrepreneurs experience:

  •  Participants in the competition access brilliant business bootcamps and mentoring from the Local Enterprise Office.
  • They build friendships and a network with other young entrepreneurs.
  • They get experience in the media, learning how to promote their business.
  • County winners share in an investment fund of €50,000 and there’s €100,000 for the national winners.
  • Opportunities to develop their business idea and business plan.

IBYE is so much more than a competition – it’s an opportunity for any young entrepreneur to take their business to the next level. It’s also a great opportunity to get to know the team in their Local Enterprise Office who are there to help and support their business development whatever age or stage they are at.
