Green for Micro

Green for Micro Programme - 2020

The aim of the Green for Micro Programme is to assist micro enterprise (<10 employees) in the manufacturing sector to incorporate sustainable practices into the day-to-day running of their businesses and to assist them to transition into a Low Carbon Economy.  Becoming Green means improving the way you use energy, waste, water and how you transport and procure goods to ensure efficiency is considered.  The benefits of becoming more Green include reduced operating costs, more efficient use of resources, better monitoring and management, and a targeted plan in place.

There are 3 elements to the Programme:

    1. Going Green for Business Breakfast Briefing - Tuesday 11th February, 8.00am to 9.30am, Tower Hotel, Waterford.  Attendance is FREE but pre-registration is required.  
    2. 3cea with work with a small number of Local Enterprise Office Clients (<10 employees & manufacturing business) which will involve:
      1. Installation of metering equipment so resources can be monitored and usage improved.  LEO will provide a voucher for 50% of costs up to a maximum grant of €2,500 towards the installation of monitoring equipment.
      2. 4 days 1-2-1 on-site support from 3cea to assess your business resource usage and in order to develop a targeted plan.  This work covering the areas of water, energy, waste, procurement & transport.
      3. Follow on access to 5 days mentoring from specialised consultants in the areas of energy, waste, water, transport and/or procurement.
