Failte Ireland launch Exciting New Festival Support Fund to Help New Innovative Festivals

Do you have an exciting idea for a new festival or event?

Will it attract overseas tourists to Ireland?

Fáilte Ireland is looking for innovative ideas that have the potential to become part of Ireland’s exciting festivals and events calendar.   

This new fund - “What’s the Big Idea?” -  is designed to support the development of innovative ideas for new festivals and participative events that will appeal to target visitor segments and deliver on some of Ireland’s newest destination brands – Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland’s Ancient East and Dublin – a breath of fresh air.

Why are festivals so important to Ireland's tourism industry?

  • They provide opportunities to showcase culture, people and places, and enhance the visitor experience of Ireland.
  • They improve the distribution of tourism revenue around the country.  
  • They are a great way to meet the locals.
  • They can encourage visitors to come at different times of the year.
  • They are fun!

‘Big Ideas’ can be submitted from 12.00pm on Monday 16th May until the closing date of 12.00pm on Tuesday 7th June.
