Invitation to Tender for the finalisation of Co Westmeath Tourism Strategy 2016 -2020

Background

Westmeath County Council plan to undertake a strategy for the development of tourism in Westmeath for the period 2016 – 2020.

Project Objectives

Westmeath County Council plan to undertake a strategy for the development of tourism in Westmeath working with agencies responsible for developing and promoting tourism in Westmeath. It is envisaged that the Tourism Strategy will contain the following elements: A review of current documents pertaining to tourism; a statistical overview of tourism in Westmeath; an audit of the tourism product in Westmeath; a SWOT analysis of Tourism in the County; facilitation of public consultation workshops and meetings with agencies involved in Tourism development; analysis of data research to identify gaps in the tourism product and recommendations on future tourism potential; recommendations of deliverable Aims, Objectives, Actions, Performance Indicators and timeframe of the strategy and the mechanism/structure to ensure the successful delivery of same.

Westmeath County Council is seeking tenders from suitably qualified professionals to finalise the Tourism Strategy 2016 to 2020. It is envisaged that this strategy will act as a blueprint to guide all agencies, companies and individuals involved in tourism support, in a direction that will best cultivate progress, competitiveness, growth and resilience over the coming years.
