Brendan McAuley is a Director at the International Trade Institute and the Senior Strategist at Trade Advisers – guiding companies on market diversification/entry and trading across borders. He specialises in the Customs, tariff, non-tariff barriers, logistics and supply chain implications of trading relationships. Recent assignments have included market research, formulating market entry strategies and identifying/introducing prospective buyers. His clients are mostly SMEs from a variety of industries, including: aero-space, agri-food, animal feed, automotive, chemicals, construction, cosmetics, fisheries, logistics/transport, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and software. Much of this work has been on assignments for Local Enterprise Offices, Enterprise Ireland and InterTradeIreland. Brendan has also worked in trade facilitation, trade policy, political risk and market intelligence in Africa, Asia and Europe, including at United Nations ESCAP. He has a Bachelors in Law, a Masters in International Management and has studied at the University of Edinburgh (UK), National University of Singapore, Peking University (China) and ESADE Business School (Spain).
