This workshop will be held over 2 mornings and will help participants learn how to start a podcast. It will teach you how to record, edit and upload, along with all the tools needed to start.

Podcasting for Business 

Objective:

‘One in three Irish people listed to a podcast every month.  We are famous for our love of storytelling and this is proving to be true for the 21st century’s newest form of the medium, which can be listened to while walking the dog or driving the car.  The nation has the third highest listenership to podcasts in the works after high-tech South Korea and Spain.  The 2019 Reuters report found 37% of Irish people have used a podcast over the last month’ – Irish Examiner June 2019. 

Webinar 1:

  • Podcasts, why are they so popular right now? 
  • What are the most popular formats and genres?
  • Understanding audio and how to record and edit it
  • What hardware and software do you need to get started?
  • Setting up a room suitable for recording

Webinar 2:

  • How to use this technology
  • How do you find and tell audio stories?
  • Tips on how to shape an interview?
  • Editing demonstrations and exercise 
  • How do you release and host your podcast 

Leading up to the workshop you will receive an email containing an invitation link. On the morning of the workshop, click on this link to join the live webinar workshop on Zoom. It will guide you to download the app on your device. You can use your smartphone, tablet or computer to participate, these devices should have a built in webcam.

To get the best out of these workshops, during demonstrations and exercises, it will work better for you if you have a second device to use. Example: Having a computer and a smartphone, or a smartphone and a tablet.  This way, you can use one device to participate in the webinar and the second one to copy and follow along with the demonstrations.   

During the workshop, each participant will receive a PDF containing links with direct access to the platforms, software and hardware information showcased during this webinar.  

This workshop will be held on Thursday, 10th and Friday, 11th March, 2022 from 2.00 to 5.00 pm.
