Objective:
To provide participants with a total understanding of why and how to register for VAT and how to operate the VAT system in a practical manner. To provide participants with a good basic understanding of the Tax system, profitable income, tax calculations USC and PRSI. Benefits of sole trader, partnership or Limited Company. Participants will have a practical and hands on training session which includes calculations of relevant profits, VAT returns and income tax calculations.
Content:
- Practical advice on registration forms, VAT limits, rates, forms and relevant dates.
- Advice on tax credits, rates of tax, USC and self employed PRSI.
- Aids to understand the benefits of self-employment - sole trader, partnership or Limited Company.
- VAT guidelines - limits, rates and dates to remember.
- VAT registration requirements and looking at Form TR1.
- Completing records for a VAT return, completing a VAT 3 form by hand and online.
- Comparing a sole trader, partnership and limited company - why and why not.
- Calculating income and expenditure and relevant profits.
- Self assessment form - how to complete it and basic income tax calculations, tax credits, USC and PRSI rates.
- Taking the fear out of dealing with revenue.
