Funding Your Business

One of the highlights of the work LEO Wicklow does, is provide funding to local businesses. If you are running a business with less than 10 employees LEO Wicklow may be able to help you access the finance you need to support your plans for growth. Specific criteria apply, but rest assured that if the LEO funding is not available to you, we help you explore other options.

LEO Grant Funding

Aimed at businesses that are manufacturing with export potential or that are internationally traded services, Business Expansion Grants and Priming Grants are provided for developmental activities (such as employing people, marketing, capital investment). The maximum grant that can be applied for is €80,000 or 50% of what you intend to spend (whichever is the lesser). 25% of the grant is repayable. Aimed at businesses in most sectors that are trading for more than 12 months and already have a basic website but want to improve it in order to drive sales in their business and / or sell online, Trading Online Vouchers are provided for a range of purposes including developing an online shopping cart, developing an online sales strategy, Search Engine Marketing/Optimisation, improving User Interface and User Experience. The maximum grant that can be applied for is €2,500 or 50% of what you are intending to spend (whichever is the lesser). Loan Funding

If you are having difficulty accessing a loan for your business, you might want to consider a MicroFinance Ireland Loan. Loans are between €2,000 and €25,000 and are available to all business sectors. LEO Wicklow will work with you to develop your business plan and put together an application to Microfinance Ireland.
