Strategic Development & Business Planning - 19th April 2023

Creating a good business strategy is vital. Take part in an interactive workshop, that includes presentation, conversation, hands-on practice, and Q&A.

Learning Outcomes

Our goal is to leave the participants with full understanding & motivation, and practical knowledge they can apply confidently & immediately.

1. Participants will be able to look at their business from a strategic point of view and start thinking about their long term goals for the business & life and start preparing their exit plan
2. Participants will be able to identify the value elements in their business and estimate its total value
3. Participants will be able to create a strategy for their business (1 year, 5 years, exit) and they will be able to derive a growth plan and actionable steps from it
4. Participants will know all available resources & options, and will be able to choose the right ones for implementing their plan & strategy

  • Working on your business not in your business
  • The difference between strategy & operation
  • The difference between Owner / Director / Manager
  • How many customers do you need
• The Strategy
  • What do scalability & growth mean
  • Setting ambitious yet realistic goals
  • How do businesses grow – new pricing, new offering, new markets
  • How to create a mid & long term strategy
• The Plan
  • How to measure business value
  • How to move from strategy to actionable steps and create a prioritised plan
• The Resources
  • What resources are available for mentoring, training, funding (LEO, Enterprise Ireland, etc.)
  • What resources are available for personnel (employees, partners, suppliers) and how to choose the right one (partnerships, employees, and outsourcing)

Delivery Methodology

This programme will include a combination of short presentations integrated with group work and individual tasks online with a strong emphasis on practical application throughout. Participants will get the opportunity to practice their skills during the programme in a way that will allow you to immediately apply the topics covered in your businesses. This will be supported by relevant printed materials that participants will receive.

Please note, as this is a practical workshop, participants are required to bring their own laptop (that can connect to WiFi).
