In an effort to help small businesses to save on energy costs, become more sustainable and reduce their carbon footprint, the Local Enterprise Office in Fingal rolled out a “Green for Micro” programme in 2021. The Programme aims to prepare small businesses for the low carbon, more resource efficient economy of the future. Owing to the success of the initiative the LEO is continuing to take applications in 2022.

This FREE programme is available to companies with up to ten employees. Developing a ‘greener’ policy can offer many benefits to business, including:
- Increased cost savings
- Improved resource efficiency (for example: using less energy, water and materials)
- Reduced environmental footprint and greenhouse gas emissions
- Opportunities for higher and additional value on products and services
- Increased access to customers, improved corporate image
- Increased resilience to climate change impacts
Approved applicants will receive individual consulting with a specialist Green Consultant and this will include recommendations on specific changes which businesses can implement. Each business specific needs are matched to the Green Consultant’s area of expertise and the Consultant will then prepare a detailed Green for Micro Report on the client’s own business.
