Less than a month until full customs controls are introduced...
HMRC are reminding traders to prepare for customs changes that come into effect on 1 January 2022.

There are three main changes coming:
  1. Customs Declarations
  2. Pre-notification
  3. Rules of Origin

Made in the UK, Sold to the World 
UK businesses are being encouraged to unlock their exporting potential and sell to the world as International Trade Secretary Anne-Marie Trevelyan launched the inaugural International Trade Week on 15th November.

The “Made in the UK, Sold to the World” campaign will champion local export success stories and promote opportunities in international markets to take advantage of the global demand for the high quality goods the UK is known for.

BCFA Open Dublin
The British Contract Furnishing Association (BCFA) held their fourth Dublin OPEN on Thursday 11th November 2021 at the Alex Hotel in the heart of Dublin. The event received support from the Irish Interiors Association and Department for International Trade Ireland. We participated in the event and gave valuable assistance and input to the exhibiting companies.

Clean Growth Programme
The new Clean Growth programme aims to encourage more UK exporters to tap into a sector expected to be worth £1.8 trillion by 2030 and will involve increased promotion of the UK’s green export capability by trade and investment teams in embassies around the world and via DIT’s digital platforms.

With experts predicting that the UK’s low-carbon economy could grow by 11% per year between 2015-2030 – four times faster than the rest of the economy – DIT is encouraging clean growth businesses to start exporting their innovation globally.

A trailblazing hydrogen storage project near Glasgow has been backed by nearly £10 million in UK government funding.
