BREXIT ADVISORY CLINIC – COMING TO LAOIS

6th February 2018: Enterprise Ireland is running a series of nationwide Brexit Advisory Clinics, the next of which will take place in Portlaoise on Thursday, 22nd February.

The free clinic is open to all businesses and Local Enterprise Office Laois is advising all small businesses in the greater Laois area to come along and ensure their business is Brexit-ready.Evelyn Reddin

Evelyn Reddin, Head of Enterprise, Local Enterprise Office Laois, said; “Many small businesses seem to be putting the challenge of Brexit on the long finger as they believe it may not affect them.  However, there is a significant chance that if you own a small business in Ireland you will be affected by Brexit.  You may not be importing from or exporting directly to the UK but one of your suppliers may be, and the supply chain of many Irish businesses will be affected by the changes expected once Brexit occurs.

“The Brexit Advisory Clinic is a free opportunity for companies to learn how Brexit will affect them and the depth of supports that are in place to ensure that businesses are fully equipped to deal with the implications of what may happen.  Local Enterprise Offices and Enterprise Ireland are here to help small businesses negotiate Brexit and we would ask them to come along and ensure they are fully prepared for the coming months and years ahead.”

The purpose of the clinic is to support companies affected by Brexit in Laois and the surrounding areas to take immediate action to address their exposure. The clinic aims to strengthen their capabilities in 3 key business areas; financial and currency management, strategic sourcing, and customs, transport and logistics.

This full-day event is free to attend. Along with seminars throughout the day, the clinic will also give companies the opportunity to speak one-to-one with independent experts, who will provide company-specific guidelines and advice, while allowing company managers, founders and CEOs to privately discuss their circumstances and concerns.

The event will conclude with a panel discussion with local business leaders who will share best practice tips in the 3 key areas, and the actions they have taken as a response to Brexit.
