Bookings Open for Local Enterprise Village at National Ploughing Championships

Applications are now open for places in the Local Enterprise Offices – Local Enterprise Village at this year’s National Ploughing Championships.

Screggan, Tullamore, Co Offaly is the venue for this year’s Championships where over 250,000 consumers will visit a 50 acre exhibition and trade arena. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the quality and high standards of goods and services provided by SMEs and supported by the Local Enterprise Office.

As part of its National Programme the Local Enterprise Offices are hosting a Local Enterprise Village to provide an opportunity for small companies to take full advantage of this unique consumer event. Commenting on the opportunity for clients , Sean O’Sullivan , Head of Enterprise with Local Enterprise Office South Cork said “The Enterprise Village is the ideal place to showcase the projects supported by the Local Enterprise Offices as part of the Local Authorities to the thousands of visitors the National Ploughing Championships attract each year. Last year’s exhibitors achieved over €600,000 in sales during the NPA and this year the redesigned area includes a product launch and seminar area which will have a full programme of events”

Kieran Comerford , Chair of the Network of Local Enterprise Offices said “The Local Enterprise Village provides companies across the Country the opportunity to showcase their products and services for the first time in a supported manner via the support systems in place from the Local Enterprise Offices” , Comerford commented that “now in its second year the Local Enterprise Village is an essential support for SME’s and part of a series of national projects aimed to showcase the talent of LEO companies  at local , national and international level”.

Paul Reid Chief Executive of Fingal County Council & Chair of Local Government, Economic, Enterprise and Tourism Committee said “For small, local businesses looking to expand, The Local Enterprise Village is the ideal gateway to customers across farming communities and rural Ireland. Many of the small businesses being supported by the Local Enterprise Offices will be testing new products and services in September, which in turn, will generate more jobs within those companies in the near future.” Reid continued to say “the local enterprise offices are delighted to work with SME’s across the Country for this project”.
