LEO Dublin City Enterprise Awards 2016.

Local Enterprise Office Dublin City are delighted to announce that Nobó Ltd (www.nobo.ie) are the winners of the LEO Dublin City Enterprise Award 2016. The award celebrates the achievements of small businesses in Dublin city. Nobó received the perpetual Denis Colleran Trophy and a prize fund of €5,000.
Nobó is a unique and innovative health food brand that launched Ireland’s first dairy free Ice cream into the Irish market in 2014, and now supply over 800 stores throughout Ireland, UK, and UAE.
Nobó will represent Dublin city at the National Enterprise Awards which will be held in the Aviva Stadium on Thursday, 9th June, 2016
Ardmhéara/Lord Mayor, Críona Ní Dhálaigh presented the Denis Colleran Trophy to Brian and Rachel Nolan, Founding Partners, at the Mansion House, Dawson Street on Thursday 10th March 1016. They were joined by LEO’s Head of Enterprise Greg Swift and members of the judging panel Peter Sheridan and Clodaigh O Brien, LEO Dublin City Mentors.
Nobó Ltd launched it’s first product, ‘Frozen Goodness’, a premium, delicious, alternative to dairy ice cream, into the Irish market in December 2013 and is now stocked in over 400 stores around Ireland. The company began exporting to the UAE and UK during 2015 where it is stocked in a total of 400 stores. Further export is planned for the coming year.
Ireland’s first dairy-free ice cream is aimed at adults looking for an alternative for health and wellness reasons, in addition to the growing food intolerance market. While the product itself is at its core nutritious and healthy, Nobó’s ‘Frozen Goodness’ also focuses on using innovative and interesting ingredients to deliver a gratifying and pleasurable taste experience. In September 2014, it was judged as one of the top 50 foods in the UK and Ireland at the Great Taste Awards in London where it received 3 Gold Stars and in November 2015 Nobó won Bord Bia’s Innovation Award at the Food & Drinks Awards
The Denis Colleran Trophy
Denis Colleran acted as chair of the former Dublin City Enterprise Boards Evaluation Committee for many years. His work with the Enterprise Board went well beyond the call of duty. He was a career banker with Bank of Ireland and ended up divisional manager for Dublin at the bank. The award itself was sponsored by the bank as a tribute to his memory. Previous winners of the Award include Medicom, Webbusters, Red Post Productions, Clever Box Club, Irelanda en Espanol, Synergy Stocktaking, Sonitus Systems (2015).
