Launch of Dublin City Social Enterprise Awards – Impact Report

The Dublin City Social Enterprise Awards – Impact Report was officially launched by William Parnell - Assistant Secretary General - Department of Rural and Community Development at the Social Enterprise Social event on the 25th July 2019. The Impact Report highlights the: Dublin City Social Enterprise Awards scheme and its impact to date. It also showcases each of the 19 previous awardees so far and the impact of their social enterprise activities. From a research perspective, the report provides insights and interesting findings regarding social enterprise development in Dublin which stems from the survey conducted on the previous awardees.

Since 2015 – the Dublin City Social Enterprise Awards has being making an important contribution to social enterprise development in Dublin. It is a collaborative initiative between Dublin City Council, Inner City Enterprise and Local Enterprise Office – Dublin City and is co – funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development. The programme and competition aims to increase awareness of the important contribution that social enterprise makes to building communities and in creating employment and developing the skills of the participants who get involved. The award funding is provided by the Department of Rural and Community Development and Dublin City Council and the awards process is managed by Inner City Enterprise. Each year, award funding of approximately €50,000 is distributed among the winners which enables them to further develop their activities and bring the benefits of their social enterprise to more communities in Dublin.
