Deirdre Parkinson

Deirdre Parkinson is Head of Marketing & Channels in Microfinance Ireland (MFI) with responsibility for the development and promotion of loan finance for small businesses through Microfinance Ireland which is a not-for-profit, government funded lending organisation. Deirdre Parkinson 220x140.jpg

Prior to joining MFI in 2016, Deirdre spent almost 30 years in the financial services industry and held a number of senior management positions in the area of strategy development and business change. She also has a wealth of experience in SME development, marketing and project management.

When Microfinance Ireland (MFI) was set up in late 2012, the aim was to help businesses start up and expand and support jobs following the financial crisis. While MFI has grown during the upturn supporting many businesses to develop and grow, given the significant challenges of 2020, it feels like the business has gone full circle, supporting businesses again in what has emerged a very sudden and serious economic shock across every town and county in Ireland.
MFI provides financial support in the form of business loans up to €25,000 to help small businesses either manage or adapt their business to respond to the many challenges they face not least COVID19 and Brexit etc.
