Supported in partnership by the three stake holders, Bord Bia, SuperValu and the Local Enterprise Offices, Food Academy is a Business Development training programme aimed at supporting and nurturing start-up food businesses and provide a consistent level of food marketing knowledge to new and early-stage food business owners.

Bord Bia – Irish Food Board is responsible for the development of new markets and the promotion of Irish food, drink and horticulture products internationally. The role of Bord Bia is to act as a link between Irish food, drink and horticulture companies and existing and potential customers. Bord Bia’s main activities include international trade development, promotional campaigns, implementation of quality assurance programmes and the provision of information to suppliers and buyers. They work with trade buyers from all over the world to help identify and satisfy sourcing requirements.

About Local Enterprise Offices

The Local Enterprise Offices, located in local authorities and funded through Enterprise Ireland, support over 7,000 small Irish businesses and entrepreneurs nationwide. Since their establishment in 2014, they have helped create over 20,000 jobs and provide a range of supports to small businesses including financial assistance, mentoring and training.
