LEO KILDARE PRIVACY STATEMENT

 

Who we are

Local Enterprise Office Kildare (“LEO”) with service partner Enterprise Ireland are the joint data controllers for personal information collected in the course of delivering our business services to you, our clients. The lawful ground by which we process personal data submitted to us in your business applications, are that we as a local authority perform a task which is necessary and in the public interest. Sometimes though, we will rely on your additional consent for data processing activity like marketing just to be sure that you agree to it.

Our duty to our clients

As a public authority authorized to deliver a public service, LEO recognizes it owes clients a special responsibility to protect the privacy and confidentiality of commercial and personal data. Any data collected by LEO in the course of administration duties will be subject to the highest standards of confidentiality, privacy and data protection. We undertake not to use your personal or commercial information for any purposes other that to which you consented. LEO does not share your information other than for the purposes necessary to process your enquiry. We anonymise our electronic data for security and both our electronic and paper records are stored securely or held on encrypted databases. We also request that all our support services providers apply this standard of privacy, confidentiality and information security when managing your data.

Who we share data with

We sometimes share information with Enterprise Ireland, a public enterprise body or their representatives. The personal information that we share can include necessary personal identification details and may relate to grant applications processing, business funding or public awards. This information may be shared with other statutory authorities for those purposes only. When considering grant applications we use credit assessment tools and checks in order to qualify business for funding.

The way in which we are improving our data management

We aspire to achieving the highest standards of data protection and are working hard towards subscription to an approved Code of Practice for the personal data that we manage on your behalf.

Data retention and accountability

We will hold personal information securely contained within our data systems in accordance with National public authority policy and recommendations. We also require that our data processing agents, and other third party service providers also subscribe to these policies apply standards to protect your data privacy.

****Your information may be stored by cloud (internet storage providers) and will not be at any time transferred outside of the European Economic Area. By giving us personal information, you agree to the transfer, storing or processing of the information as outlined above.

Contacting you

We may contact you, from time to time, with a request to manage your data. This contact may be made by a number of communication methods in addition to traditional correspondence. We will use not provide your details to third party marketing companies and will only, with your prior consent make contact with you to confirm training products and services based on a request which you have submitted to us. However, you are free to withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us at localenterprise@kildarecoco.ie.

We retain business records and personal data for a period of seven years in order to satisfy legal audit requirements. During that time your data will be safely secured and protected. We will not use your information for any purposes after the statutory data retention period of seven years has ended and your data will be deleted after the period of seven years has expired.

From time to time we may contact you using the information you have provided in relation to our products and services in any of the following ways:

  • by text message
  • by social media
  • through
  • digital and/ or other remote applications

The reasons we might contact you

We might contact you:

  • in response to an enquiry you have made;
  • to discuss business products and service offers;
  • to update your details;
  • to reschedule appointments;
  • to ask for your view on the products & services we provide;
  • to tell you about any important changes to our website or services; or
  • where there is another genuine reason for doing so.

Direct marketing preferences

While you may have chosen to receive newsletters from us you can change your mind about receiving any direct marketing information from us at any time. Each time we contact you electronically with marketing information or a marketing message, you can choose not to receive further marketing information from us to that email address or phone number. This is known as an "opt-out".

You can unsubscribe by "opt-out" or “unsubscribe” buttons on our marketing emails but if for some reason this doesn’t work please telephone us on 045 980 838 or email us at localenterprise@kildarecoco.ie.

Please make sure you tell us about any changes to your marketing preferences for each affected address, email address or phone number you have registered with us so that we have correct information by which to contact you.

 

When we collect private, confidential or personal data

By booking a product or service with LEO or by giving us personal information including confidential or commercially sensitive information (as more particularly described in our Data Protection Policy) you will be explicitly agreeing to us and or our contractors, and the other persons described in this notice to process private, confidential or personal data contained in such information for the appropriate purposes as stated in our policies.

Before you provide us with any business information that contains personal data about others, such as partners, employees or co-directors, you should make sure they are aware of how we will use their information and have agreed to this. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have obtained the permission of any such persons and have shown this notice to them to allow us to process their personal data for the purposes outlined. Your right to access your data

You can obtain confirmation on what information is held about you, correct any information we might have on file, transfer data, delete data or submit a data deletion request by making contact with our Data Protection Officer at Kildare County Council via dataprotection@kildarecoco.ie who will address your request, at no cost.
