LEO Meath is launching a brand new suite of materials for people with disabilities who would like to consider self-employment as a option. The event is scheduled to take place from 11am – 1.30pm in The Solstice Theatre in Navan on Friday, 7th March.

A launch event is scheduled to take place on Friday, 7th March as part of Local Enterprise Week (LEW) to build awareness of the programme and associated suite of supports.

The keynote speaker for the event is Jack Kavanagh, a Meath man and one of Ireland’s leading speakers focusing on mental and emotional wellbeing and diverse abilities. 

This will be followed by a panel discussion, facilitated by Elaine Keogh (Freelance Journalist and Broadcaster) on the topic of entrepreneurship for those with disabilities.  Elaine will chat with

- David Nestor (Founder of Nestor Freight Services, Dunboyne),  
- Eva Burke (Founder of Neuro Diversity Navan)
- Shiela Comisky (Employability Officer with SeeTec). 

They will discuss the potential barriers and how they may be surmounted through a combination of personal resilience, positive mindset and the leveraging of government supports.  The event will conclude with a light lunch and an opportunity to network and chat with a member of the LEO team about participating on the pilot entrepreneurship programme and availing of the new suite of supports.

The Agenda for the event is as follows:

  1. Opening by Kieran Kehoe, Chief Executive of Meath County Council
  2. Keynote Speaker – Jack Kavanagh (Breaking Boundaries)
  3. Panel Discussion facilitated by Elaine Keogh (Freelance Journalist and Broadcaster) Panelists Include: Sheila Comisky (Employability Officer with Seetec), Eva Burke, Founder of Neurodiversity Navan), David Nestor, (Founder of Nestor Freight Services, Dunshaughlin)
  4. Closing comments by the Head of Enterprise, Joe English followed by light lunch and networking with an opportunity to discuss or sign up to the pilot entrepreneurship programme.
  5. Close.
