Energy monitoring and targeting is a technique for managing energy that uses energy consumption data and other data as a basis to eliminate waste, reduce and control energy consumption and improve operating practices.

Our 1st Best Practice visit will be hosted by Shabra Plastics, Castleblayney 8th March. Colm Connolly, Operations Manager has devised and implemented systems to monitor and track KWhr usage of machinery and equipment. Having up to date and live data has enabled the business make informed decisions and tweak operations to suit energy demand load. Consistency of effort and application has resulted in Shabra Plastics reducing electric consumption modestly, which is the ambition of all businesses.

Colm advocates that all businesses need to get to grips with energy monitoring and targeting if they are truly interested in reducing consumption!
