“The team at Local Enterprise Office Louth are here to support businesses in so many ways. But we’re not the only ones. Louth has a multitude of great Enterprise Centres, Chambers of Commerce, BIDS and educational institutions that also provide learning, networking, advice and support to local businesses” declares Riona McCoy, Acting Head of Enterprise at Local Enterprise Office Louth.

She continues “We are delighted to partner with Drogheda Chamber, Dundalk Chamber and Network Louth to enlarge our event offering for Local Enterprise Week 2023, which takes place from 6-10th March. It is also a great way to showcase all of these organisations to business owners and highlight the work they do all year round.”

Riona outlines what to expect from these events: “On Tuesday, 7th March, Drogheda Chamber will host a really important seminar helping business owners to understand the latest changes in HR and Employment Law and what that means for their business. Featuring industry experts Michelle McDonagh and Katie Ridge of Adare Human Resource Management, this free, online event is a must-attend for business owners, managers and HR professionals.”

Previewing Wednesday’s events, Riona explains “Dundalk Chamber will join forces with Newry Chamber for the annual Cross Border Conference. The event will address crucial themes for business, including supports, sustainability, skills and will feature a wealth of expert speakers. Led by journalist Mark Simpson, the conference will be addressed by Minister for Enterprise, Trade, and Employment, Simon Coveney T.D.. This event is aimed at anyone operating cross border or considering it in the future.

“We’ll mark International Women’s Day on Wednesday, 8th March with Network Louth, the network for women in business, the arts and community sector in Louth. Entitled “Neurodiversity in the Workplace”, this evening session at The Mill Enterprise Hub in Drogheda, will examine how neurodiversity impacts business and how it can really enhance it. Featuring Roann Byrne, Chef & Taste the Atlantic Young Chef Ambassador, and Fiona Ferris, Deputy CEO of AsIAm, this compelling event will showcase both their knowledge and lived experience. It promises to be a thought-provoking evening with great opportunities for networking and building connections.”

Looking ahead to Thursday, Riona explains “Cyber security is an ever present threat for businesses, of all sizes and at all stages. In 2022, 6 in 10 Irish SMEs experienced cyber-attacks. Understanding the threat and taking action is the first and most important step for small business owners. On Thursday morning, Dundalk Chamber in partnership with Grant Thornton, will present a morning briefing session that will help inform and protect local businesses.”

Riona concludes “We are proud to partner with these great organisations to provide superb learning and networking experiences as part of Local Enterprise Week 2023. You can book your free places at any or all of these events by visiting www.localenterprise.ie/louth. Looking forward to welcoming you to Local Enterprise Week!”
