As the Christmas season approaches, we’re launching our “Look for Louth” campaign.
We want to encourage people in Louth to “think local” when buying gifts, festive supplies or socialising. The aim of the campaign is to champion the businesses that give our county its distinctive character.
David Conway, Chief Executive of Louth County Council, explains “Louth County Council is proud to champion and support businesses across our county, helping them grow and thrive. But the real impact happens when we all play our part. Local businesses are more than shops – they provide jobs, sponsor local events, and invest in the communities we call home. This year, we’re asking everyone to make a conscious choice: buy local, support local, and look for local. When you ‘Look for Louth’, you’re not just choosing quality, you’re helping maintain local livelihoods and sustain our towns and villages.”
Nikki Campbell, Louth’s Head of Enterprise, adds “Every euro spent locally contributes directly to jobs, community and economic wellbeing. By visiting local shops or choosing Louth-based businesses online, you play an important role in strengthening our towns and villages. It’s a small action, with big results.”
Local businesses are once again offering an impressive range of gifts, crafts, homeware, food, fashion and more, with many expanding their online presence to make shopping local even easier.
Nikki continues, “Adding ‘Louth’ to your online search can be a game-changer. You’ll be surprised by what’s available on your doorstep, along with the personal service and faster delivery times.”

Looking ahead, Nikki Campbell said “We’re delighted to launch this year’s campaign. ‘Look for Louth’ is more than a slogan – it’s a community effort that supports local enterprise and celebrates the remarkable talent in the county. Let’s make this Christmas one that truly showcases Louth.”
