A number of Louth firms will be amongst one hundred engineering firms from throughout Ireland attending a major engineering trade event in Monaghan next Wednesday (16 October).

Following the success of last year’s event, the EENGINEX Engineering Meet the Buyer is returning to the Combilift factory complex in Monaghan, and will offer engineering firms the opportunity to engage in pre-arranged meetings with key buyers and other suppliers from throughout Ireland and Europe.

The event is being organised by Enterprise Europe Network through the Local Enterprise Offices in Ireland and in conjunction with Enterprise Ireland at regional level; over 120 engineering firms will in attendance, from a cross section of sectors including construction, environmental, materials handling, marine and aerospace.

Speaking about the event, EEN co-ordinator Eileen Kelly said:  “We’re delighted that EENGINEX is returning to the Combilift complex this year, as the event provides an unrivalled opportunity for our engineering suppliers to go face-to-face with a wide range of equipment and component buyers.”

“The event itself will see the scheduling of over 600 pre-arranged meetings between buyers and suppliers.  This proven approach allows our smaller companies, many of which will be meeting corporate buyers for the first time, the opportunity to go face to face and very quickly get down to the business of doing business.”

Commenting about last year’s event, James Cuddihy of Welditz Engineering, one of the engineering suppliers that attended said: “EENGINEX gave us the opportunity to meet with companies whom we normally would not get the chance to meet, and who were actively looking for our services.  As a result, we received significant orders with a number of buyer organisations, and we hope to build on this at this year’s event.”

The event is being held at the Combilift plant in Monaghan and will include, in addition to the business meeting, a series of workshops on topical business issues and a factory tour of the Combilift complex.

Speaking of the importance of the event, Aidan McKenna, Regional Director, Enterprise Ireland commented “I’m delighted to support the EENGINEX Meet the Buyer event for the second year in Combilift on October 16th. This event provides an opportunity for both Enterprise Ireland and Local Enterprise Office client companies to win new business, source new suppliers and build stronger relationships with existing partners in the engineering and manufacturing sector. Strengthening your supply chain and building resilience has never been more important to the sector with the Brexit deadline fast approaching on October 31st. This event offers Engineering companies an opportunity to do just that and I would encourage both Suppliers and Buyers to participate in the event”.

Registration for the EENGINEX event is free of charge. For further information on those firms attending, or to book a place at EENGINEX, visit https://eenginex-2019.b2match.io/.
