Going Green is Good for Business

GOING GREEN IS GOOD FOR BUSINESS

Monaghan LEO have gathered a host of experts and consultants for a free information webinar on ‘green’ funding and supports. This online event is open to all manufacturing, services, logistics, hospitality, tourism, retail or agriculture businesses who are interested in creating a more resource efficient economy for the future. Developing a ‘green’ or ‘sustainable’ practice can offer many benefits to businesses including increased cost savings, reduced environmental footprint, opportunities for higher value products or services and an improved corporate image.

The Green for Micro programme, which is a new initiative from Monaghan Local Enterprise Office is designed to help businesses across all sectors prepare for a more eco-friendly, sustainable approach to business operations.

'Going Green makes good business sense' says Eilin Connolly, Acting Senior Enterprise Development Officer at Monaghan LEO.

'With climate change, changing regulations, rising resource costs and changing customer expectations, adopting a more eco-friendly approach is the best way forward for business. We have had so many enquiries about the Green for Micro programme we decided to host an information webinar where the experts in this area will answer everyone's questions and I would encourage Monaghan Businesses to attend this online event'

The speakers for the webinar include Dick Clerkin, Adrian Davis, Paul Murphy, Neil Cremin, and Andrew Wood, each of whom are experts in their field.

Each of the speakers will discuss the different applications of 'Green for Micro' to give attendees an in-depth insight to what the programme includes, with supporting evidence from case studies they have worked on. Helen Williams from Sustainable Energy Authority Ireland will be in attendance, giving advice on the support and grants available to businesses.

The webinar is taking place on 16th June at 10am and is open to all County Monaghan businesses.  A recording will also be available, post event. Topics to be covered include;  Resource efficiency Assessment,  Environmental Management, Sustainable strategy,  Renewable Energy Potential and Circular Economy Thinking and available grants and supports to assist you managing your ‘Green’ journey.
