Taxation – taxation – taxation! None of us like it but we have to live with it!

To welcome you back after the summer, Monaghan Women in Business offers you a valuable and very practical information session to help you prepare for the Tax Return deadline at the end of October and how to manage taxation in the future.

Fiona Connolly and Donna McCarra – Chartered Certified Accountants and owner/managers at McCarra Connolly - will answer your queries and talk us through the key elements of keeping your taxes up to date and availing of all the credits due.

Fiona and Donna will explain and clarify:

• The different bases of taxation – joint assessment, separate assessment and separate treatment – and the benefits/disadvantages associated with each option
• What qualifies as a business expense – including travel and home based working expenses
• Key dates in the taxation year
• VAT registration – when and why to register
• Efficient Record keeping and
• Dealing with difficulties in managing tax returns and payments

This is a great opportunity to get clarity on any issues relating to taxation which may be troubling you or causing your problems, access valuable knowledge and information and to have queries dealt with by accountancy professionals.

In addition, the Library Staff will be on hand to inform of us of some of the amazing facilities available at Monaghan County Library Branches and their amazing range of online facilities. These include access to business publications, online training courses and lots lots more. And they’re all FREE.
