The Monaghan Women in Business Network have a great evening lined up for you on 7th May.

You may know of the amazingly impressive story of our Guest Speaker, Nikki Bradley, from her many recent media appearances, including The Late Late Show and RTE's Operation Transformation.

And Nikki certainly is an expert when it comes to embracing change and turning challenge into opportunity.

Nikki's life has not  been what you would call, 'normal'. Diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer - Ewing's Sarcoma - at sixteen and the receiver of a second total right hip replacement at the age of twenty-six, Nikki has been on a truly unique journey.

In 2013 Nikki set up a fitness-based awareness campaign called "Fighting Fit For Ewing's" where she regularly partakes in physical challenges to highlight the importance of exercise for rehabilitation.

Her most recent challenges resulted in her becoming the first person to

  • scale 4 Irish mountain peaks on crutches in 32 hours
  • conquer Iceland's formidable Solheimajokull glacier on crutches
  • attempt a Guinness World Record in Holland to become the fastest woman to complete a 5k on crutches
  • abseil off Fanad Head Lighthouse and
  • complete the Fan Dance - a gruelling 24km trek through the Brecon Beacons usually reserved for the British Special Forces - on crutches.

Her story has unsurprisingly attracted national and international media coverage and Nikki uses this exposure to share her message of rehabilitation, wellbeing and achievement.

And she will share her extraordinarily impressive and inspiring story with us, Monaghan Women in Business, at our next event on Tuesday 7th May. This will no doubt be an extremely popular event.

Please spread the word so that as many people as possible can benefit form Nikkis inspirational experiences and positivity. All women in business and management in County Monaghan and surrounding areas  - and those who may be thinking of going into business - are encouraged to attend to benefit from the experience of our Guest Speakers, avail of valuable networking opportunities and enjoy the same useful, constructive and enjoyable 'you' time.
