Local Enterprise Offices host Enterprise Village at National Ploughing Championships

31 indigenous companies from across Ireland will participate in “Local Enterprise Village” as part of the National Ploughing Championships 2014 hosted by the Local Enterprise Offices.
From Food & Drink to a treatment for tired eyes, from sportswear to world leading water technologies, some of Ireland’s latest innovations developed by Local Enterprise Office supported companies, will be on display at the National Ploughing Championships 2014.
Located this year at Ratheniska, County Laois, from 23rd-25th September 2014, the championships will showcase the ‘Local Enterprise Village”.
Supported by Local Enterprise Offices in Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Tipperary, Waterford & Wicklow in total 32 companies will exhibit a wide range of goods and services across sectors including, health, lifestyle, home and garden, tourism and fashion. The exhibitors are confident of receiving €500,000 worth of orders and profile during this year’s championships.
“The National Ploughing Championships is an important platform for small and medium sized enterprises throughout the region,” said Kieran Comerford, Head of Local Enterprise with the LEO in Carlow.
He continued: The Local Enterprise Village will allow visitors to sample a diverse range of successful products, goods and services, which in turn encourages the local economy and promotes Irish owned businesses. The 32 exhibitors taking part in the scheme, which includes both long established and new businesses is a testament to the enterprise initiative of companies supported by the Local Enterprise Offices across the country.
Organisers are expecting nearly 160,000 visitors from 23rd-25th September 2014. The ‘Local Enterprise Village” will be a focal point of the many exhibits and tents on show at the 100 acre trade arena.
