Monaghan Women in Business are delighted to welcome Fiona Flynn, Director at Foresight Corporate Development, as Guest Speaker at our May event.

Originally from Ballybay Fiona will bring us fascinating, productive and creative insights into the whole area of Emotional Intelligence, how it can be nurtured and developed and how it can help you and your business.

Her workshop will enable you to:

  • Understand what Emotional Intelligence is, and how it relates to business performance
  • Explore how your attitudes and emotions support or hinder your ability to inspire great performance in yourself and others
  • Learn tools and techniques to help you inspire great performance in yourself and others

Please note that this meeting will start at 7pm (rather than at our usual time of 6.30pm). This is to facilitate a number of people who wish to attend but who may have difficulty being at The Wetlands Centre for 6.30pm. You may however decide to arrive a bit early to enjoy the lovely surroundings of The Wetlands Centre and enjoy a leisurely stroll or invigorating walk on the amazing pontoon!

If the idea of Emotional Intelligence is new to you, here is a little bit of information which may help. Emotional Intelligence is the process by which we become aware of our thoughts and feelings in order to manage our behaviour more effectively. Our Emotional Intelligence underpins how well we are able to know ourselves, manage our emotions and adapt our behaviour in order be both personally and interpersonally effective. Most importantly, Emotional Intelligence can be developed.

Emotional Intelligence is described as the missing link that turns an individual’s potential into effective and sustainable performance.

  • 90% of top performers are high in Emotional Intelligence
  • Managers trained in Emotional Intelligence deliver twice as much profit of those who are not
  • Employees are 4 times more likely to be engaged if they work in a positive emotionally intelligent climate

So this is an excellent opportunity to gain some insights into the world of Emotional Intelligence and see how it can help you and your business.

As always this will be a useful, informative and enjoyable event. The evening will conclude with refreshments, networking and chats. And don’t forget to bring your business cards. We look forward to meeting up again on 2nd May in The Wetlands Centre, Ballybay.
