LOCAL ENTERPRISE WEEK FAST APPROACHING

Next week is Local Enterprise Week” declared Thomas McEvoy, Louth County Council’s Head of Enterprise “and you’re invited to be part of it.

“Starting on Monday 1st March, Local Enterprise Office Louth are proud to offer a great selection of free online events for business. We’re also teaming up with our colleagues in Local Enterprise Offices around the country to extend the learning opportunities for local businesses.

Monday will include the launch the new “Green for Micro” programme, a mentoring support for SMEs wishing to drive sustainability in their business. Later that day, Emma Jones of Enterprise Nation and Mark Pollock will focus on building leadership and resilience in a dynamic morning session hosted by LEO Donegal.

On Tuesday, LEO Galway will focus on ideas and supports for pivoting businesses. This session will showcase a selection of SMEs who’ve taken the challenges of the past year and used them to drive innovation and growth.

Wednesday offers specialists sessions for AgriTech and the creative sectors. LEO South Cork will host a fast paced seminar on opportunities for business in AgriTech, while LEO Carlow will examine how creative industries can embrace online selling tools.

Thursday includes the highly entertaining and inspiring David Meade on the psychology of leadership and effective business management. For Tech Start-ups, LEO Clare will host a brilliant event focusing on robotics, IoT, automation, data analysis and the supports available.

In addition to the national events, LEO Louth are proud to offer our own series of local events. Thomas explains:

Discover the supports that Dundalk Institute of Technology offers to start-ups and established industries at a Monday afternoon briefing hosted by Incubation Centre Manager Garrett Duffy.”

Retailers, get ahead of the curve in a brilliant morning session with retail guru Miriam Simon (pictured above, right). This free 2 hour session on Wednesday will look at consumer mindset, key challenges and opportunities for retailers and provide practical, actionable solutions.” 

He continues “Join Dundalk Chamber on 3rd March for the annual cyber security update. Learn about the latest trends in cyber threats and how to protect your business. On Thursday morning, ask yourself is your website effectively representing your business? Keith Byrne will help you to assess this in a Drogheda Chamber breakfast session. Lean is a management system that drives efficiency in the way you run your business. Discover how to build Lean into your business with a Lean workshop on Thursday afternoon.”  

We’re delighted to partner with Network Louth for an evening with Joanne Hession (pictured above left). Renowned as one of Ireland’s leading trainers, Joanne believes that how we lead ourselves is crucially important to the success of our business, family and community. Her not-for-profit foundation, LIFT Ireland, provides personal leadership skills through free leadership round tables. In conversation with Network Louth member, Karen Devine, Joanne will talk about how we build better lives by getting our personal leadership right first.”
