The LEAN for Micro Programme is open to businesses* registered in Louth to help them implement LEAN principles and improve efficiencies and productivity

Programme Overview:
LEAN tools and techniques are helping companies across the globe to address competitiveness issues within their business, building the capability of their people to identify issues and improve their operations. LEAN is about being effective and efficient- doing things quicker, better, cheaper... together. Lean strives to stamp out waste and to continually improve.
Louth Local Enterprise Office recognises the importance of the development of management skills for people managing their own micro or small enterprises. It also recognises the very substantial improvements in productivity and profitability that can result from the application of LEAN principles in an organisation and aims to support managers in effectively embracing LEAN methodologies in their businesses.

Programme Aimed at:
The LEAN for Micro is aimed at owners/managers and key staff members of small businesses who wish to gain an introduction to lean concepts and allow them to gain a practical understanding of lean principles by undertaking a focused assignment with expert consultant. The programme will be aimed at a limited number of Louth based businesses.
Programme Duration:
Louth LEO will appoint a lean expert consultant to work with you over 5.5days.
Programme Cost:
The Lean for Micro Louth is very heavily subsidised and the business contribution is €150.00
Eligibility
The programme is open to:
- All micro-enterprises with up to ten employees and
- Non Enterprise Ireland/IDA clients employing between 10-50 on a limited basis in consultation with the LEO except those involved in activities that the Local Enterprise Offices consider as ineligible (primary agricultural, fishery or aquaculture, coal and steel sectors) and those involving an unacceptable reputational risk including gambling, ‘gaming’ (as defined in the Gaming and Lotteries Act 1956), adult entertainment, tobacco products and cannabis-based products which are not authorised as medicines).
- In general start-up businesses do not avail of the lean programme however start-ups that are trading for a minimum of 6 months and have generated revenues in excess of €30k may be considered. Companies forming part of a holding group, franchise, linked companies etc. are only permitted to make one application. Multiple applications will not be considered.
