The Role of the Committee

The membership of the Evaluation and Approvals committee brings together a wealth of experience across a diversity of areas of business expertise.

All projects being considered for financial support will be evaluated by the Evaluation and Approvals Committee and all projects under €50,000 may be approved by this Committee in line with national enterprise policy. All projects over €50,000 will be evaluated and if endorsed by the Evaluations and Approvals Committee, recommended to the Enterprise Ireland Jobs Expansion Fund Committee for final approval.

Expressions of Interest to join the Evaluation & Approvals Committee

Local Enterprise Office Mayo are now seeking Expressions of Interest from individuals with specific areas of business expertise (record of entrepreneurship, accountancy experience, knowledge of markets/sectors/technology and banking/financial) to sit on the Evaluation & Approvals Committee.

The purpose of the Committee is to carry out the following:

  • Evaluate & approve, defer or reject Feasibility, Priming, Business Expansion and Agile projects being considered for financial support by LEO Mayo;
  • Note/Ratify other financial supports approved by the LEO Executive;
Since the inception of Local Enterprise Office Mayo, the Evaluation & Approvals Committee have played an integral part in supporting micro-enterprises in County Mayo.
The Committee has a “client first” approach that the work of the Local Enterprise Office in Mayo is known for and plays an integral part in delivering an efficient, practical and impactful range of financial supports to eligible micro enterprises.
Membership of the Committee is on a pro-bono basis and it usually meets a maximum of six times in the year.
Commercial Evaluations of all grant applications are circulated to committee members in advance of the meetings for review, and, if on occasion, a committee member can not attend the meeting, electronic communication outlining their stance on either supporting/not supporting the project can be accepted in their absence.
The closing date for submitting an Expression of Interest is Wednesday the 4th of March at 4:00pm. Please email info@leo.mayococo.ie and the Expression of Interest form will be sent on to you.
A panel of suitably qualified individuals will be formulated following the deadline of the 4th of March. Two positions for 2020 will be filled from this panel and any subsequent vacant positions that require filling for a period of two years thereafter.
