Inc 60 Event - Holding Customer Data & Your Legal Responsibilities

Inc 60, in conjunction with the Local Enterprise Office Mayo and the Enterprise and Investment Unit of Mayo County Council held a hugely successful 60 minute live interactive session at Lionbridge Technologies Ballina on the subject of Data Protection and Privacy in Ireland.

The event took place on July 8th from 9:30am to 10:30am and featured a presentation and discussion led by Robert Haniver, Senior Associate at Mason Hayes & Curran. This was followed by a Q&A session with Robert where participants could ask questions about their company’s specific data requirements and also gave people the opportunity to network with individuals in similar industries.

Participants learnt how to classify themselves and remain compliant with data protection laws. Robert then went on to explain the rules governing email marketing, newsletter campaigns and opt-out facilities. Attendees also learnt the importance of building their websites according to the rules surrounding cookie policies, security breaches and privacy statements.

The event was a huge success with all 25 places filled and the event had a huge social media presence. Over 28 days over 26 Twitter accounts tweeted about our events and over 30,351 followers saw multiple tweets.

Feedback was extremely positive and informative, with 100% of attendees advising they would recommend our event to another business.
