A programme for small businesses on how to manage their finances including Tax, VAT, Cashflow and Debt Management.
This programme is being delivered by Padraig Considine, PAS Professional Accountants and will run over the following dates:

The aim of the programme is to provide the participants with the knowledge and skills to maintain the necessary financial records within their business, improve their understanding of the financial and accounting aspects of their business and to meet all legislative and Revenue requirements.
On completion of the programme participants should be in a position to;
- Maintain proper financial records to satisfy Revenue and all other requirements.
- Have a complete understanding of all relevant Revenue forms
- Prepare their own VAT returns
- Have in place proper procedures for employing people
- Understand the true cost of employing people
- Have an understanding of how to calculate wages, PAYE, Universal Levy, Holiday Pay etc.
- Price work accurately
- Understand the importance of cash flow
- Manage their bank position
- Understand how to deal effectively with banks on finance issues.
- Understand how to grow both sales and profits.
- Understand and interpret their end of year accounts and take appropriate action
Trainer Profile
Padraig Considine – PAS
Padraig Considine established Professional Accounting Solutions in 1993. He had previously worked in Industry as both a credit controller and financial controller for a period of over fifteen years. When the practice commenced it concentrated on looking after the bookkeeping/taxation requirements of the smaller businesses and the self employed.
Over the past 15 years Padraig has delivered training and mentoring supports on behalf of the Department of Social Community and Family Affairs, Galway Rural Development and Cumas Connemara Teo. His work with the above bodies involves mentoring and the delivery of both “Start your own business” and “Basic Bookkeeping” courses to people who have been accepted on the Back to Work Scheme. Due to the extensive work carried out in this area Padraig is familiar with the issues and problems these people have to deal with.
Padraig offers training and mentoring services on behalf of the Local Enterprise Office Mayo.
