Learning outcomes: Research indicates that poor management is the biggest internal cause of business collapse. The real question is: What are the issues that contribute to poor management operations? Research has provided the answer to this question and we have taken this research and developed a programme to overcome these issues. This programme is driven by its participants and they alone decide its content.
However in our experience a fully functioning and applied programme will encompass many if not all of the following modules:
  • Inadequate financial controls
  • Margin erosion
  • Poor financial performance
  • Poor working capital management
  • Impact of late payment date legislation
  • Reduced their credit dates and interest on outstanding money
  • Working capital being squeezed
  • Overtrading
  • Underestimating costs or overestimating the revenue flows
  • Under capitalisation especially for fast growth businesses
  • Flawed leadership
  • Inadequate reporting structures
  • Lack of real accountability
  • Lack of strong sales and marketing capability
  • Lack of strategy
  • Lack of sales management process
  • Lack of selling skills
  • Lack of a realistic targeted marketing plan
  • Human resources issues
  • Failure to set or meet deadlines
  • Working capital pressures
  • Debtor or stock build up
  • Creditors or tax not being paid on time
  • Unacceptable high levels of absenteeism and labour inefficiencies
