Biggest-ever National Women’s Enterprise Day- October 13th 2022

Female entrepreneurs and budding businesswomen from across the Local Enterprise Office Cork North & West catchment area were encouraged to look to the future at this year’s National Women’s Enterprise Day.  The Local Enterprise Office (LEO) initiative, now in its 16th year, National Women's Enterprise Day celebrated female entrepreneurs’ success and inspires female start ups.

16 major entrepreneurial events took place across the country, including an event in Killarney with the Local Enterprise Offices Cork & Kerry.

 

This initiative led by the 31 Local Enterprise Offices nationwide, and funded by the Government of Ireland, in partnership with Enterprise Ireland and Local Authorities.

 

On October 13th, the event for Cork & Kerry female entrepreneurs took place at the Brehon Hotel, Killarney.  The event kicked off with a welcome address by Director of Services, from Kerry County Council followed by a network event facilitated by Marie Wiseman, Wiser Marketing allowing attendees to meet with other female entrepreneurs present. The keynote speaker was Sonya Lennon, designer, broadcaster, social entrepreneur, and successful businesswoman. It also included an interactive panel discussion of Cork & Kerry Leading lights hosted by MC Elaine Kinsella, Radio Kerry presenter and RTE Broadcaster. This event was an Afternoon Tea style networking.

 

The Leading light representing LEO Cork North & West was Enrika Moore. Enrika Moore, Viska Systems Enrika Moore is the Director and Co-Founder of Viska Systems. Viska Systems was established in 2015 with the aim to create intelligent automation that enables machines to move, think, and see. The company’s core expertise is in three main areas: robotics, machine vision and software development. So far, Viska Systems has been bootstrapped by its two founders and hasn’t taken any external investment. Even though they are a small team (currently 5 team members) they thrive on innovation and managed to build strong partnerships with the most successful names in automation and machine vision sectors. In the last few years, they have also launched their own product ‘Visable’ - a software platform that operates as a No-Code interface for robot, camera, and image processing controls. Our future, Our Way was the theme for this year’s National Women’s Enterprise Day 2022.“National Women’s Enterprise Day has always been a day of celebration of the very best in female entrepreneurship and highlighting the strength of that community.  This year was no different.  It was a great success.
