The Mentor Programme

The Mentor Programme is designed to match up the knowledge, skills, insights and entrepreneurial capability of experienced business consultants with small business owner/ managers who need practical and strategic one to one advice and guidance. The mentor contributes independent, informed observation and advice to aid decision making. 

All applications for mentor assistance are dealt with individually and are preceded by a business needs analysis to assess the key needs of the business and determine the most imperative mentoring objectives.

Who Qualifies?

The Mentor Programme is open to both new and existing businesses located withìn the LEO Cork North & West catchment area. 

  • Listen, advise and provide direction
  • Help the promoter identify problems and suggest areas for improvement
  • Discuss solutions and innovative ways of improving business activity
  • Help with the decision making process
  • Share experience and knowledge
  • Provide structure and context for discussion
  • Offer assistance in compiling a business plan

How to apply for one to one mentoring for your business:

  2. You may select a mentor that you wish to work with but the final decision rests with the LEO.

A decision should be made on your application within 5-10 working days. We reserve the right to refuse the application subject to the needs of your business.

If you are an experienced Business Mentor and wish to be considered for inclusion on our Panel please review the following:

  • The Local Enterprise Offices of Cork County Council are seeking tender submissions for the provision of mentoring and related services through the Local Enterprise Offices of South Cork and Cork North & West. The contract is for the duration of three years, and the successful applicants will form a panel of mentors from which they will be assigned work on an ongoing basis, where their skillset and experience match the requirements of the client
