The business community of the North Cork area received a welcome boost last Friday morning when acclaimed business trainer and motivational speaker Pearce Flannery spoke to a full house at the Hibernian Hotel Mallow on Friday morning 11th March.

The Local Enterprise Office hosted the seminar in conjunction with North Cork Business Alliance  where Pearce Flannery delivered a rousing and motivational address. The seminar was entitled ‘Create Your Own Reality’ and provided the participants with the tools and necessary motivation to set and achieve goals and improve their businesses in 2016.

Joan Kelleher, Business Adviser, Local Enterprise Office kicked off the morning with details of the supports offered by the Local Enterprise Office.

According to Joan Kelleher of the Local Enterprise Office: “In today’s business climate, networking with potential clients has never been more important. There is a realisation among most sensible business people that they look beyond traditional ways of doing business and the type of promotional activities that they previously engaged in. We have been delighted with the enthusiastic response that this networking initiative has received, which demonstrates that smaller companies are willing to look at every opportunity that presents itself.

Gordon O’Keeffe, K& L Deliveries, thanked the Local Enterprise Office for the opportunity to put this presentation on in Mallow. “Pearce was inspiring. As a Business Owner and a member of the North Cork Business Alliance,  we are delighted with the support the Local Enterprise Office are giving us”

The event received an overwhelming thumbs up from all in attendance as they left with an invigorated pep in their step. As Garry Sweeney, Chairman of the North Cork Business Alliance explained: “The North Cork Business Alliance , known as NCBA, are a business networking group operating since 2002 and meet every Friday morning at the Hibernian Hotel Mallow between 7.30am  & 8.30 am.

The Group consists of a wide variety of entrepreneurs, business owners, tradesmen, employers and sole traders operating a diverse range of businesses. The group has 41 trades and professions associated with it at present.

The group actively encourages the exchange of information, ideas and business referrals which in turn promote each member in their trade or profession. Visitors are welcome and can come a maximum of 2 times before they are requested to join the group”.

Mr Flannery provided much food for thought in his trademark high impact, high tempo style when he rallied participants to take control of their own destiny. He encouraged attendees not to waste time dwelling on past mistakes or glories, rather he said the challenge was to embrace the challenges that lie ahead. We should become “Pioneers of the future, rather than prisoners of the past” he said.
