Network for Success

With a host of well known speakers forming the panel, tickets for the event were a much sought after item and sold out well in advance of the event itself. With over 120 in attendance on the day, the event brought together women from all over Leitrim and Longford as well as counties Sligo, Westmeath and further afield.

The event commenced at 10am and was introduced by Frank Curran, Chief Executive of Leitrim County Council and Barbara Heslin, Director of Services of Longford County Council. A fast paced networking session got participants off to a lively start when they were moved on at 5 minute intervals and met three new contacts each.

The In Conversation session was compered by Leitrim based news correspondent and author, Carole Coleman and those present heard a lively, informed discussion on the pros and cons of establishing a business from the three entrepreneurs, Ramona Nicholas, Cara Pharmacy Group, Anne Heraty, CEO, CPL Resources plc and Suzanne Jackson, So sue Me. Each of the speakers gave those present their views on branding, networking and online sales as well as time management and tips on winding down and relaxing after a tough day at the office. Afterwards attendees had the opportunity to ask questions of the panel members, and they were more than willing to share their experience and offer advice.

A delicious light lunch rounded off the occasion and completed the day. Organisers of the event would like to thank the speakers and attendees for making this a truly enjoyable event and would like to remind everyone that National Women’s Enterprise Day takes place on Wednesday 19th October with seven events taking place across the country on the one day. The event for Leitrim based female entrepreneurs takes place in Radisson Farnham Estate, Cavan. Bookings can be made on www.localenterprise.ie/cavan
