A number of County Council Initiatives are happening in the Mohill area, these include energy efficiency in homes through the Housing Dept, energy reviews for businesses through the Enterprise Office, age friendly initiatives to make the town more age friendly, International Rowing facility at Lough Rynn making use of the water to generate visitors to the area, supporting the Greenway project at feasibility stage.
The next event coming up is the Energy awareness Day, this is taking place in the Canon Donohoe Hall in Mohill on Thursday December 4th from 3-6pm. A number of exhibitors will be in attendance including Sustainable Energy Ireland, The Warmer Homes Scheme, The Credit Union, Electric Bike Trails, Teagasc Green Farming Initiative, Leitrim County Council and the Local Enterprise Office.
This event is about informing people how they can save money, save on energy costs and get advice on what support may be available to them.
One such opportunity is the Credit Unions and Sustainable Energy Ireland have joined forces and the Credit Union are offering loans to individuals who may be looking at improving the energy efficiency of their homes, more information on this and any other supports will be available on the day.
In addition there will be access to the Mohill Better Energy Communities Buildings between 2pm and 4pm, this will be a great opportunity for people to have a look at what has been done to date and learn more about the innovative technology used.
The event is open from 3-6pm, admission is if FREE and everyone is welcome.
