Event Overview
- LEO Leitrim and Sligo's joint National Women's Enterprise Day aims to celebrate and empower women in business with a focus on innovative and collaborative approaches to enterprise. The 2025 theme, Rebel Minds: Women Redefining Enterprise, will highlight the importance of challenging norms, embracing change, and leveraging collective strength. This event will consist of a variety of developmental support actions, including inspiring speakers, shared experience, and networking opportunities.

Keynote Speaker - Miriam Simon

- An award-winning Business Strategist and Peak Performance Mentor with 30 years’ experience across corporate and entrepreneurial landscapes. Miriam has delivered impactful strategies for global brands like TK Maxx, Monsoon Accessorize, B&Q, and Lifestyle Sports — and today, works with ambitious CEOs and leadership teams to create clarity, build resilience, and drive measurable growth.
- As an accredited executive coach and a member of the Institute of Directors, Miriam brings a grounded, practical lens to leadership development and strategic planning. Her work spans tech, med-tech, tourism, hospitality, retail, and more — helping businesses cut through noise and unlock the growth they’re capable of.
- Clients include household names like Facebook, Meta, Kerry Group, Kilkenny Design, Jameson, Enterprise Ireland, and many more.
M.C. - Maeve McCormack

- Maeve McCormack is a writer, producer and moderator. She is passionate about supporting all things NorthWest and works towards the development of the Cultural and SME sectors in the Region.
- Maeve is a founding member of Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon Film Producers Network and Sligo Community Mediation. She was joint co-ordinator for the redevelopment of Sligo Women in Business Network in 2023/2024. Recent work includes developing Strategic Plans for Libraries, Arts Organisations, Heritage Offices, Creative Ireland and Arts Offices throughout Ireland. Maeve also works as an independent appraiser and mediator for government funding agencies. She moved to Sligo from Dublin in 1992 when appointed as Director of the Hawk’s Well Theatre. Maeve managed the expansion and rebuild of the venue, also creating a programme of events that developed extensive new audiences.
- Her writing has been published and commissioned in a range of journals. Maeve recently produced the short film ‘Lululla’ in Sligo, and is currently working on developing a feature film. She is a member of the Writers Guild of Ireland and the Irish Writers Centre.
Leitrim Business Panelist - Joanna Frivet, Lawyer/CEO/Founder @ LegalMoov

- Joanna Frivet is a lawyer specialised in international law, having worked at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague and subsequently at the Bar of England and Wales. This work has provided Joanna with invaluable insights into the complexities of legal systems and the pressing need for accessible legal information, particularly for vulnerable communities.
- In recent years, Joanna has channelled her expertise into consultancy work, advising international organisations, non-profits, and victims of conflict. She is also a serial entrepreneur, having successfully founded three businesses, including a wellness clinic in Carrick-on-Shannon and a legal consultancy focused on international justice.
- In 2025, Joanna founded LegalMoov an Irish legal tech platform, supported by LEO Leitrim and mentoring through Enterprise Ireland, created to make legal information accessible, accurate, and trustworthy for the public. Built to implement the EU AI Act in response to the growing misuse of unverified AI in legal contexts, LegalMoov offer a solution grounded in accuracy and trust. It combines the power of a proprietary AI large language model with verified legal content to provide the public with clear, jurisdiction-specific information they can trust.
- For individuals, LegalMoov offers accurate legal information - without providing legal advice - to help them through common legal challenges, all in plain English. LegalMoov also connects them to trusted legal professionals if they require legal advice. For legal and professional service providers, it acts as a lead-generation and workflow platform, connecting them with clients who are informed and ready to engage.
- Currently focused on Ireland, LegalMoov is built to expand to Northern Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales, and to scale globally into the EU and beyond — offering a responsible, citizen-first model for AI in law.
Sligo Business Panelist - Anna Mannion Founder/Owner of Tri Moon Films Ltd

- Anna Mannion is a TV and film producer and screenwriter based in Sligo. Throughout her career, she has worked with some of the leading production companies in the UK and Ireland, including Hat Trick Productions, Tiger Aspect, Samson Films, and Vision Independent Productions. She later transitioned into producing, earning her first credit on the RTÉ Storyland short film Skip to the End, which she co-produced with Jason Butler (known for Bridget and Eamon).
- In 2019, Anna established production company Tri Moon Films, based in Sligo. She achieved international acclaim in 2022 when she won the prestigious Netflix Women’s Producers Pitching Competition at the Venice Film Festival with Tri Moon’s fantasy TV project The Girl and the Ghost which is now in development with Screen Ireland.
- Recent credits include: Cascarino Voices, a documentary featuring football legend Tony Cascarino for Virgin Media Television, and the upcoming feature film You’ll Never Believe Who’s Dead, starring Ardal O’Hanlon and Stephen Rea, set for release later this year.
