Dynamic Company led by Female Entrepreneur is Overall Winner of Offaly County Enterprise Award for 2020

Euro Stallions Ltd. C/o Dr. Emma-Rose Conroy is Overall Winner of 2020 Offaly County Enterprise Award. As winner of the top award, receiving a trophy and cash prize of €1,500, Euro Stallions Ltd will now represent Co. Offaly and Local Enterprise Office Offaly at the National Enterprise Awards in May.

Euro Stallions is a stallion semen agency offering a service whereby breeders can access semen from top class stallions worldwide. 

The company is the market leader in stallion services in Ireland and is emerging as a strong player within Europe. The newly approved semen freezing and collection centre in Tullamore will allow Irish based breeders to freeze and export their stallions to the EU and Third Countries. In addition, Euro Stallions has begun to diversify into the area of veterinary fertility supplements and the supply of essential veterinary and breeding products.

 

Other winners at the awards ceremony, held at the Tullamore Court Hotel included four category prize-winners. Each of the category winners received a trophy and cash prize of €750. The four category prize winners were: Portarlington based Equipeople Ltd (Business Growth Award); Rahan based NIS Ltd (Business Service Award); Portarlington based Carla Mooney (Best Female Entrepreneur Award) and Edenderry based Derek McCreanor, T/a Enhance Acoustics (Innovation Award).

 

Speaking during Local Enterprise Week, Orla Martin, Head of Enterprise with Local Enterprise Office Offaly said: “Euro Stallions Ltd has already become a success story and the judges were particularly impressed by the development of this company, and expansion into new markets and product areas.  Euro Stallions Ltd was also a National Finalist in the Best Young Entrepreneurs Award in 2019.  Offaly is proud to be represented by Euro Stallions Ltd. at the National Enterprise Awards.”

Seven other Offaly businesses received Merit Awards this year, together with a cash prize of €200 each. These were MEGS Fabrication Ltd; Playtown Tullamore; Deanery Furniture; Stampify Company Ltd; Shell Connect, T/a United Laundry, Wild Irish Foragers and Energy Systems Design Ltd.

Among the special guests at the ceremony were Cllr. Peter Ormond, Cathaoirleach of Offaly County Council, Chief Executive Anna Marie Delaney; elected representatives; Oireachtas Members Barry Cowen and Carol Nolan, and members of the business community. The judging panel comprised Mr. Paul Kelly of Byrne Casey & Associates and Ms. Evelyn Reddin, Local Enterprise Office Laois.

The awards are just one of the many highlights of Local Enterprise Week, which comes to an end on March 6th. All over the country, the 31 Local Enterprise Offices have been jointly running over 300 events aimed at start-ups, aspiring entrepreneurs and small businesses in their area, to mark the week.
