Local Enterprise Week returns with an exciting range of free events and seminars, all designed to support you in the set up and development of your business.

Local Enterprise Week provides an ideal opportunity to invest in your business. Attending any of the free events should give you business tips and inspiration, while also giving you an opportunity to network with other businesses in the County.

Highlights during the week include:

Innovate your Way to Success – Monday, 6th March 2.00pm to 5.00pm, The Junction, Unit 19H, Axis Business Park, Tullamore. 

Speakers include the Patents Office, Enterprise Ireland and Bord na Mona. This event will take place in the recently expanded Innovation Facility at The Junction, Unit 19H, Axis Business Park, Tullamore.  Pre-booking is essential.  There will be an opportunity to network and visit stands.

Starting your Own Business Course – Edenderry Town Hall, Edenderry,  Monday, 6th March 7.00pm to 10.00pm.

This course is designed for anyone who is thinking of starting up their own business.  It covers all stages of preparing for a business start up and course topics include market research, business structure, business planning, sources of assistance, taxation issues, promoting your product/service, managing your business.  A mentoring session on completion of the course will be offered on a date to be agreed with the trainer.  The fee for this course is €70.00 and the course is free of charge to participants who are in receipt of certain social welfare payments. 

Expand your Horizons 2017 –  Tullamore Court Hotel, Tuesday, 7th March 8.00pm to 10.00pm

Teagasc and the National Rural Network are jointly organizing an innovative evening seminar – Expand your Horizons 2017.  The purpose of the seminar is to provide information on the range of agencies, services, funding and training opportunities in rural Ireland.  Local Enterprise Office Offaly will be exhibiting at the event. Get your Business Brexit Ready – Radisson Hotel, Athlone, Tuesday, 7th March 8.00am to 9.30am

InterTradeIreland is holding a free breakfast briefing event for SMEs in the Longford, Westmeath, Offaly and Laois areas.  The event will focus on some of the questions you may already have on business planning, currency hedging, innovation, diversification and building cross-border relationships.  A new range of Brexit supports will also be announced by InterTradeIreland on the day.   Visit www.intertradeireland.com for more information.

Finance Mentoring Clinic – LEO Offices, Offaly County Council, Áras an Chontae, Charleville Road, Tullamore, Wednesday, 8th March 9.30am to 5.00pm

Book a one to one mentoring session with a financial accountant to discuss book-keeping, accounting, allowable expenses, VAT, employer taxes and tax obligations for sole traders, limited companies or partnerships.  Sessions are 50 minutes in duration and must be pre-booked.

Celebrating Female Entrepreneurship, Wednesday 8th March – Tullamore Court Hotel, 12 noon - 2 pm

Student Enterprise Programme County Final -  Tullamore Court Hotel, Thursday, 9th March, 1.30pm. 

This event is open to the public, who are welcome to view stands and supports our entrepreneurs of the future.  The awards are open to the public at 1.30pm with the announcement of winners at 2.00pm. 

Master class on the Key Factors to Grow a Business - Tullamore Court Hotel, Thursday, 9th March 3.00pm to 5.00pm

The speaker at this event is Blaise Brosnan.  Blaise has a unique blend of practical top management experience gained over 23 years in his capacity as Chief Executive of a portfolio of business types.  In addition to this, he has gained further national and international experience, having successfully completed projects in Ireland, US, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and in Russia.   Pre-booking essential, 

County Enterprise Awards -  Tullamore Court Hotel, Thursday, 9th March 6.30pm to 9.00pm. 

The winners of the County Enterprise Awards will be announced at this event on 9th March.  The county winner of the Enterprise Awards will go forward to represent Offaly in the regional finals with the possibility of progressing to the national finals in May 2017.  Blaise Brosnan is quest speaker at this event.   Refreshments will be served and pre-booking is essential.  Come along! This event is open to anyone who would like to attend and will be a very interesting evening. 

Trading Online Vouchers Workshop - Tullamore Court Hotel, Tullamore Friday, 10th March 11.00am to 1.00pm

Small businesses throughout Ireland can apply to the government for digital vouchers to help their businesses trade online.  The objective of the scheme is to help small businesses grow their sales, exports and ultimately jobs.  Businesses can apply for grants of up to €2,500 (matched funding).   This information session is designed to help you get an application ready for the Trading Online Voucher Scheme.  After this session you will have a clearer picture of what’s involved in running an eCommerce website, the practicalities, logistics and potential issues that may arise.  Booking essential. 

Outdoor Networking Event – Croghan Hill, Friday, 10th March from 11 am

An outdoor networking event will take place on Friday, 10th March at Croghan Hill.  This event is for businesses and entrepreneurs to promote teamwork and a healthy work/life balance.  A guided walk up Croghan Hill followed by lunch in the Castle Barna Golf Club, Daingean.
