He complimented all the businesses people who worked closely with Offaly County Council in the naming and design of the new signs. She said it is a thriving hub of enterprise activity in Offaly. Our involvement in this project, she said, comes as a result of our expanded role. Since becoming part of Offaly County Council, the role of The Local Enterprise Office (LEO) includes economic development. Therefore, LEO Offaly is working with business groups to promote business parks and towns, clusters of businesses and drive economic development.

She said the key messages she would like to leave with the businesses were:

  • The Local Enterprise Office is here to help –all businesses looking to set up and grow. We can meet business owners in Portarlington or in offices in Edenderry and Tullamore

  • LEO Offaly has a property database, where anyone can promote for free any vacant business premises
