Aim

This course is designed to help tourism enterprises in Roscommon to develop their usage of social media and content creation as part of their marketing effort.

Participants will be given an overview of how to use the main social media platforms for tourism (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), as well as blogging and SEO for their websites and video marketing.

Objectives:

  • Understand the role of social media in today’s tourism marketing and why they should incorporate various social media platforms into their promotional effort.
  • Decide which tools and platforms would be most suited to their business.
  • Know how to carry out basic actions on each of the social media tools discussed.
  • Know how to advertise on Facebook.
  • Incorporate video marketing and blogging into their marketing effort.
  • Understand what SEO is and know how to improve the performance of their website in search.
