This 4 session course will enable participants to gain the skills to use SAGE Cloud accounts software in computerising the books and records of the business.
Priority must be given to participants from Offaly
Designed to show participants how to use SAGE accounts/computerised accounts package to keep proper books of account, submit VAT and monitor business performance.
Use SAGE and related apps to improve efficiency in your business by streamlining bookkeeping and financial management.
Facilitate better communication with Accountant/Financial Advisors.

Introduction
- Record keeping
- Overview and practice simple manual bookkeeping (to be transferred to computer)
- Revenue requirements
- Using records to manage and develop business
Introducing Technology to Bookkeeping and Accounts
- Introduction to computerised accounts systems
- Advantages of computerised accounts systems
- Data accuracy, security, confidentiality
- Linking other apps such as Autoentry, Dext
Set-Up and Input of Transaction Data (Computerised Bookkeeping)
- Set up accounts and data on computerised accounts package – customers, suppliers, nominal, stock, opening balances
- Enter appropriate information to accounts
- Sales, Purchases
- Cash receipts
- Cheque payments
- Petty cash
- Debtors ledger
- Creditors ledger
- Nominal ledge
- Issue, print and post sales invoices and credit notes
- Restore petty cash to imprest
- Controls, verifications and correction of errors
- Bank Reconciliations
- Stock Records
- Marketing Records
- Back-up data
- Exit from software correctly
Computerised Reports and Analysis
- Extract trial balance
- Extracting useful reports from system – sales day book, aged debtors, purchase day book, aged creditors, cashbook, petty cash book, nominal ledger accounts
- Preparing VAT return from system
- Interpret information from above reports
