Seizing Our Green Opportunity

On Wednesday, 25th February, Offaly will host an inspiring and informative conference highlighting the strides made to date and the economic opportunities arising from the Green Energy Transition in the Midlands County.

Speakers from Eirgrid, SSE Renewables, BnM (Bord na Móna), RPS Tetra Tech, and Offaly County Council will examine how Offaly has transitioned into one of the top 3 counties in Ireland in the provision of clean, green energy, and how the county is on course to yield between 1.5 GW and 2 GW of renewable power.

Panel discussions with representatives from IDA Ireland, Enterprise Ireland, SSE Renewables, Statkraft, Lumcloon Energy, and others will outline future infrastructure developments, the growth pipeline, and the opportunities through Large Energy User co-location. Key areas will include semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, precision engineering, and data centres.

Join us for the first Offaly Green Energy Conference, where we will explore the county’s progress to date and examine the infrastructural challenges and opportunities shaping the future of energy in the Midlands.

This half‑day event will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, stakeholders, and academic experts to discuss the benefits of a green energy future and the significant economic and environmental opportunities it presents for the region.
