Unprecedented Demand for Online Trading Vouchers in Fingal

Over 100 Small Businesses Attend Online Trading Voucher Briefing

Online Trading Vouchers Local Enterprise OfficeLocal Enterprise Office Fingal held an information briefing on 10th June for the Online Trading Voucher Scheme, a grant scheme which was launched by Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton T.D for Fingal in May.

The session was hosted by Noel Davidson, a digital marketing specialist with QED, along with the team from Local Enterprise Office Fingal. Open to those who had already expressed their interest in the vouchers, the event was designed to help small business owners and micro-enterprises to get the best return for their businesses, by outlining how small business owners could improve their website presence and trade more effectively online.

Local Enterprise Office Fingal has been inundated with applications for the online trading vouchers since the event. Funding for 25 vouchers is available, but due to unprecedented demand, the Head of Enterprise for Fingal, Oisin Geoghegan, is applying for additional funding from the Irish Government to to enable more Fingal-based small businesses to benefit from the scheme this year.

Under the Online Trading Voucher Scheme, small businesses will be able to spend up to €2,500 on this voucher, or up to a maximum of 50% of the relevant costs, to develop or upgrade their websites or to roll out their digital marketing strategies.

Most of the 100 small business owners that attended the information briefing are expected to apply for the online trading voucher and the grant recipients will be announced at the end of July, after a formal evaluation process has been completed.
