LEO Leadership and Business (LAB) – Expressions of Interest

Growing your business requires you to grow your leadership skills and awareness. Leadership development requires a journey. This pilot programme, designed for 12 selected SMEs, within the Fingal area, will commence on October 2019, completing in March 2020.

The journey will include an innovative and valuable suite of supports including a residential leadership retreat and an International University Field Trip to allow participants to experience international best practice Leadership and Entrepreneurship.

Programme Outline

The LEO LAB takes place over 6 months and is structured to allow participants maximise on existing leadership skills; as well as develop accountability and a supportive peer network within the group.

The Programme is divided into the following:

  • Leadership Retreat weekend: The programme kicks off with an intense 1.5 day residential ‘Off the Grid Leadership Retreat’. This weekend allow you to step out of the distractions of life and completely focus on the programme helping you make the “Leadership Shift”.
  • International Field Trip: The Fingal Leadership Growth Academy will include a 2-day field trip visit to the Business School at Nottingham Trent University to explore best practice and international perspectives. You will attend relevant seminars at NTU during the field trip, as well as facilitated networking event with UK SMEs to explore opportunities, challenges and learn from differences.
  • 4 Half-day Leadership masterclasses: This will be held on certain Fridays of every month (dates TBC) at the LEO offices in Swords. Guest speakers from the Nottingham Trent University network will speak virtually at the masterclasses. During the last masterclass session, you will pitch on your learnings, achievements, as well as your vision and goals for the future.

In addition to the above, LEO LAB will offer participants the following to ensure ongoing peer backup over the coming months and years as you continue to grow your leadership skills and potential.

  • Access to all learning material and peer sharing of resources closed LEO LAB Facebook group
  • Self-facilitated peer pods, taught at the weekend retreat. This is a highly transferrable skill they can use to enhance how they manage meetings going forward.
  • 3 Leadership coaching sessions to support participants in implementing and maintaining enhanced leadership practices. It will also showcase the power of the coaching process to them as it is a tool they can use to manage relationships within their teams.

Programme Costs and Application

The programme is subsidised by LEO Fingal and costs €400

To ensure the best outcome for the programme, candidates must ensure that they’re able to commit to the full 6 months; including: the weekend retreat, the international field trip as well as the 4 half-day monthly masterclasses and coaching sessions.
