Look for Local Campaign

Look for Local Banner

There is no doubt this has been one of the most challenging years in recent times for businesses. As we near the end of 2020, we wanted to make another commitment to help support our clients and hopefully encourage more consumers and businesses to ‘look for local’ for their goods and services.

The network of Local Enterprise Offices including ourselves here in Leitrim will be running a national #LookforLocal campaign all across the country to highlight the impact local businesses have and to encourage individuals to support them in the coming months. While there are many similar campaigns in existence at the moment, this one will promote all businesses and not just those who may be retail or consumer focused.

This campaign will be substantial - you may have already heard the advertisements on local radio, and this will be supplemented by national radio advertising on RTE Radio, Today FM and Newstalk, local newspaper advertising, paid social media and digital promotion and a 4 week partnership with The Pat Kenny Show on Newstalk that will spotlight local businesses.

We hope that running this campaign for our clients, it will encourage individuals to Look for Local when it comes to shopping for gifts, or sourcing goods and services.

What can you do?

Well, if you could please help support the campaign online by using the hashtag #LookforLocal on any posts you are making that are relevant and we will aim to amplify those posts on our local social and through the national social media channels. Maybe you want to make a short video highlighting your business, what it does and asking people to Look for Local or simply post some imagery of your products or services. Post whatever works for you and we will try our best to support it.

Similarly, if you have a great story around your business this year, have you made some interesting changes, or are doing something a little different as we look towards Christmas and 2021, let us know. There may be an opportunity for you to tell your story on local and national media.
